BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Francois Fortier scored with
under two minutes gone overtime and collected three assists and
Jerome Marois scored a pair of goals to lead the Mississippi
Sea Wolves past the Baton Rouge Kingfish, 4-3. Fortier buried
his 36th goal of the season past Brian Leitza 1:36 into
overtime to seal the win. Fortier assisted Jeremy Rebek, who
opened the scoring 8:55 into the first period, and helped
Marois score back-to-back goals with 3:34 left in the second
and midway through the third for a 3-2 lead. Fortier now has 17
points (6g, 11a) against Baton Rouge this season. Rebek
finished with three helpers for Mississippi, which ended its
regular season with a three-game winning streak. Colin
Zulianello made 29 saves for the win, improving to 18-11-1.
Defenseman Dane Litke scored with 7:25 to go in the match,
tying the score at 3-3, and assisted on a pair of goals and Jon
Sturgis added a goal and an assist for the Kingfish, who ended
the regular season on a six-game winless streak (0-5-1). Leitza
made double-digit saves in each period and 34 overall in the
loss.
