Chris Valicevic scored in the shootout and assisted on two other
goals as the Louisiana IceGators beat the Baton Rouge Kingfish,
5-4. Valicevic assisted on a power-play goal by Jay Murphy 8:36
into the first period, helped out on a score by Cory Cyrenne
that gave Louisiana a 4-3 lead 6:20 into the third and netted
his first shootout goal on his first attempt of the season.
Murphy finished with a goal and two assists and Cyrenne and
Kevin Mitchell each had a goal and an assist for the IceGators,
who have won six straight. Marc Magliarditi turned aside 42
shots, including five in overtime, to improve to 20-1-1. Matt
Noga, John Sturgis and Brad Federenko all had a goal and an
assist for Baton Rouge. Christian Bronsard finished with 45
saves in the loss for the Kingfish.
