Shawn McNeil recorded his second career hat trick and Marc Magliarditi made 33
saves as the Louisiana Ice Gators outlasted the Baton Rouge Kingfish, 3-2.
McNeil, a third-round selection in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft of the Washington
Capitals, scored in each of the first two periods, before netting the
game-winning goal 7:30 into the final frame. Magliarditi stopped all 22 shots
he faced over the final two periods, and recorded an assist, to improve to
18-1-0 on the season for the Ice Gators, who are 7-3-1 over their last 11
outings. Chris Valicevic added a pair of assists for Louisiana, who is 18-2-3
at home this season. Cam Brown netted a pair first-period of goals for Baton
Rouge, which fell to 1-4-1 versus the Ice Gators. Trevor Wasyluk had two
assists and Christian Brosnard made 38 saves in a losing effort.
